Hailing originally from Montpellier, Pizzitola began competitive karting at the late age of 16, having ridden previously on two wheels as a competitive Motocross racer, and made his debut in formula cars at the age of 19. He won the Elite Champion title as part of the prestigious Renault Sport Trophy in 2015 and the following year was named the factory driver for Renault-Nissan. Since then he has continued to forge a successful career which is evident in three significant wins last year including the historic European Le Mans race with G-Drive Racing, the Asian Le Mans series with Algarve Pro Racing and the WEC’s 6 Hours of Sport also with G-Drive Racing.
His partnership with VROOM reflects our commitment to source the best sponsors for upcoming drivers from among our extensive network in the technology sector. This network represents some of the top blue-chip companies and C-Level executives across Europe, with relationships forged over many years of doing business from VROOM’s sister company UNITE. VROOM is proud to support Pizzitola’s career as a driver who embodies a positive work ethic, an entrepreneurial spirit, and who consistently stands out as an exciting ambassador for the sport.
Pizzitola gave a special interview to our event host and Formula 1 Fan Zone presenter Gemma Scott about life as a driver and the future of racing. He also sampled some of the magnificent cars on display including –
- McLaren 570s GT4, a state-of-the-art full competition specification racing car
- Lightyear One, the self-charging solar car making waves in the electric mobility industry
- WAVE Italy, the fully immersive Formula 1 simulator car manufactured in Maranello
Pizzitola is also a member of the Motors Formula Team (MFT), the first international motorsport startup from Africa based in Mauritius and Monaco. MFT Racing is responsible for driver management globally including racing activities, automotive and consulting with a goal to promote Africa and tech in the motorsport industry.
MFT is gearing up to launch a new multi-service solution for pilots and athletes at the beginning of 2020 including career development, communications, legal, physical and mental preparation, on-track driver assistance and the MFT racing school supported by VROOM.
Coming up this week Pizzitola will be at Portimao, Portugal for the final of the European Le Mans series with his team Algarve Pro Racing fighting for a good result. Check out last year’s video for 4 hours of Portimao.
